To own the fastest car is not possible for everyone, but at least knowing the fastest ones can be considered. There has been a lot of competition in making of the fastest car. The companies spend years in developing technology and design of these special purpose cars, and when completed only limited number of cars are released. Such example was given by the Koenigsegg through its Trevita. The quantity produced was just 3, and that’s why it was named as Trevita. Ferraris and Lamborghinis have long been into the top fastest cars but now, they are not even in the top 10 list. The companies like Bugatti, Shelby, Koenigsegg and McLaren have taken their share and now ruling the top list.

Currently the fastest car recorded is Bugatti Veyron Super Sport which can run at the fastest speed of 257.86 miles per hour (as tested). There are other cars by this company which have the fastest speed slightly less then the Super Sport, but the list does not contains any second car from the same company.

Shelby Cars have produced SSC Ultimate Aero, which runs at the maximum speed of 257.41mph and is at the second position. This company is in some secret process of producing another fastest car to beat the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and make a world record.

Maserati didn’t release full technical specs of the car, but they say it has more power, 336kw or 450 hp, without any compromise on fuel consumption. And it’ll be faster and more agile, without sacrificing the GranTurismo S’s highly praised ride quality. If that’s true, then they have made the best car car in the world!

The story of the Chevrolet Cruze goes from strength to strength with the latest chapter heralding the launch of a new 5-door hatchback model, further evidence of Chevrolet's intention to bring value for money to all mainstream segments in Europe. A show car version of Chevrolet's compact contender will be seen for the first time at the Paris Motor Show, on September 30. It will be one of four world Chevrolet premieres at the show. With the introduction of the new Cruze hatchback, customers have an alternative body style to the traditional sedan and Chevrolet has raised the bar again with a vehicle that brings new levels of value against some of the more established competition.

According to Wayne Brannon, president and managing director of Chevrolet Europe, the potential for meeting further customer demand is significant. "Cruze is turning out to be a real success story. We are selling it in 70 countries around the world and it has recently surpassed the Aveo as our top selling passenger car nameplate globally. "Hatchbacks play a critical role in many markets. The total compact segment in Europe represents around 4.8 million units which is over a quarter of the total market, with hatchbacks representing around 65% of that volume. We therefore expect to see increased business in a number of regions, while sending out a signal that Chevrolet is now a serious mainstream player in Europe." Since its launch in the spring 2009, the Cruze sedan has been warmly welcomed by markets all over the world, greeted as a step change for the brand with customers attracted to its coupe style, build quality, 5-star NCAP rating and driving dynamics.

It was also elected the AUTOBEST car of 2010 by a jury of leading auto writers in Central and Eastern Europe. The Chevrolet Cruze is a car particularly well suited to European driver tastes, a fact borne out by sales success across many of markets. So far in 2010, Cruze tops the compact sedan sales charts in many of the larger European markets including Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal and the U.K., where it is exceeding forecasted sales.

Bugatti Renaissance Design Concept: Veyron Supercar Reinterpreted

We're not sure when or if Bugatti will present a direct successor to the 1,001-horsepower Veyron, but if the VW Group-owned company does, John Mark Vicente, a Canadian graduate of the Communication Design program at the Emily Carr University, would like to believe that it may look something like this. New Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport

If you're a fan of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, then you're going to love the new, limited edition Super Sport model that was officially revealed on Sunday. The crème de la crème of the Veyron family is faster, lighter and of course, more powerful than the... banal series production model.
How much more powerful and faster, we hear you ask? Well, the carbon-fiber skinned Veyron 16.4 Super Sport gets a massaged 16-cylinder turbocharged unit pumping out 1,200HP, or 199HP more than the standard model (or at least that's the official number from the automaker).
Over the weekend, Bugatti's engineers took the black and orange Super Sport to the VW Group's proving grounds of at Ehra-Lessien nearby their headquarters at Wolfsburg.
"In the presence of the German Technical Inspection Agency (TÜV) and a representative of Guinness Book of Records the Super Sport achieved an average top speed of 431.07 km/h [268 mph]," said the company in a statement."We took it that we would reach an average value of 425 km/h," explains Bugatti's chief engineer Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, "but the conditions today were perfect and allowed even more."
In particular, Bugatti's Pilote Officiel Pierre Henri Raphanel recorded a top speed of 427, 933 km/h [266.1 mph] from South to North and 434, 211 km/h [270.03 mph] in the opposite direction. For safety reasons and more specifically to protect the tires, the production model's top speed will be limited to 415 km/h [258.1 mph]. For the record, the standard Veyron achieves a top speed of 407km/h [253.1 mph].
So let's see the new Veyron 16.4 Super Sport in detail. Bugatti's engineers started by upgrading the Veyron's 8.0-liter 16-cylinder engine with four enlarged turbochargers and bigger intercooler -among other changes- boosting output from 1,001HP to a 1,200HP and peak torque from an already massive 1,250Nm to a mind-boggling 1,500Nm or 1,106 lb-ft.
The company did not release acceleration figures, but expect the Super Sport to be slightly faster than the standard model in the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint [Veyron 16.4: 2.2 seconds].The suspension has been modified with a slightly raised main-spring travel, stronger stabilisers, and brand new shock absorbers. Bugatti claims that the Super Sport can pull 1.4 G of lateral acceleration [standard Veyron: 1.25 G].
The Super Sport also features a new fibre structure of the all-carbon monocoque that reduces weight while the skin is made entirely of carbon-fibre composites. Upon request, the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport is available in 100 per-cent clear-lacquered exposed carbon.Along with the new paint two-tone, black and orange paint job, the Super Sport features a series of exterior modifications that help distinguish it from the standard Veyron. These include the two NACA ducts integrated into the roof, instead of the scoops above the engine, the expanded and reshaped front air intakes and redesigned engine compartment and rear bumper with a double diffuser and a new centrally arranged exhaust system.
The Super Sport's interior has also been revised featuring unique trim materials and colors along with special logos.
According to Bugatti, the first five Super Sports to come off the production line will constitute a special series of their own, with the same configuration as the landspeed record car.

More details on the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport will released when the limited production supercar makes its public debut in California at the Pebble Beach Concours weekend in mid-August.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport gets the Blues

Bugatti's Veyron is the Mustang of the hypercar pack. With a special/limited edition seemingly coming out every few months, it certainly isn't lacking in color choices.
The only problem has been that under all the fancy paint options, the only real "option" has been to Gran Sport or not to Gran Sport.
Bugatti says its customers wanted a "more extreme driving experience", so it created the 1,200 horsepower Veyron 16.4 Super Sport.
Right, because 1,001 horsepower and 253mph is just a little too relaxing for the daily commute.
